Pumice
Pumice is a lightweight volcanic product that is perfect to be used as a horticultural medium due to the honeycomb structure.
This Pumice is a high grade quality which has been sieved to between 1mm to 3 mm tolerance. It has been washed, dried & is very clean with under 1% of dust.
It’s a hard structure lightweight volcanic rock with an open honeycomb structure of air bubbles. It can be washed, sterilised & re-used numerous times as it does not break down easily.
The porous composition of Pumice improves aeration, absorbs excess moisture, helps to prevent soil compaction & helps to prevent root rot.
The open structure improves drainage to any soil. Unlike Perlite, Pumice will not break down or compact over time, keeping soil structure consistent.
Pumice has insulation properties helping to retain warmth in the winter & aid cooling in the summer. Gives excellent soil structure when mixed with other soil components.
Supplied in sealed bags. PH is around Neutral – 7
