Conophytums - Shop

Conophytum’s are small bodied plants of

Sth Africa & Namibia origin.

 They require more care &

knowledge to be grown successfully

due to their Autumn/Winter growth pattern.

The growing period of most species is from August to March with flowering occurring in October & November.

During the resting period in the summer months in Europe, a new body is formed inside the old one & gradually absorbing all the substances from it, until all that remains is the old skin, which dries out to resemble a papery sheath which protects the new plant from the heat of the sun & excessive evaporation of water ln their native habitat.

During the resting period they should not be watered but occasionly they can be lightly misted.

In general terms the temperature should be no less than 3C in Winter & no more than 30C in the Summer with protection from the midday sun.

This is general growing information &

more knowledge should be sought for their cultivation needs.
